Pick-up Locations for id+ Card Expiration Date Stickers Announced

Wednesday September 12, 2012

Changes have been made to the Penn State id+ Card to help provide a valid voting credential for students who have no other form of acceptable ID for voting under Pennsylvania's new law.

An expiration date has been added to all id+ cards issued since May 7, 2012 - meeting the requirements of the new Voter ID Law.  Stickers with expiration dates will be issued to existing student cardholders who will need to use their id+ card for voting.  Many Penn State students already possess a Pennsylvania driver's license and will not need an id+ card expiration date sticker.  Students who request a sticker will need to present their id+ card and come prepared to affirm that they have no other form of valid ID for voting.

Valid forms of ID, under the new voter law include:  Pennsylvania driver's license; Pennsylvania Department of Transportation photo ID card; U.S. passport; U.S. military ID; employee photo ID issued by the Federal government, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Pennsylvania County or Pennsylvania Municipal government; and a photo ID issued by a Pennsylvania care facility.

Expiration date stickers will be issued at Penn State Campuses starting September 12 at the locations listed below.  They will be available for pickup until Election Day on November 6.  For more information on the state law, visit www.votespa.com.  For a list of pickup locations and office hours, visit www.idcard.psu.edu/IDCard/TheCard/OfficeLocations.cfm.
