Obtaining the Card

Jump to: Students | Faculty & Staff

All Penn State id+ cards are issued by the ID-issuing office located at each PSU campus. The first id+ card received is issued at no charge.

You will need to present valid identification - such as a driver's license, passport, or military ID - in order to receive your id+ card. When you receive your card, you may choose to activate the various card features applicable to each campus.

STUDENTS

If you do not obtain your id+ card by the end of the first semester/session of registration, you may be assessed a replacement fee for the card.

University Park:
  • All new freshmen who participate in the First-Year Testing, Counseling & Advising Program (FTCAP) will receive their id+ cards during the program.
  • Transfer students, graduate students, and freshmen who did not attend FTCAP should come to the id+ Office in 103 HUB-Robeson Center to obtain their cards.  (NOTE:  Students transferring to University Park from another Penn State campus location will not be issued a new id+ card.)

Other Penn State Locations:

  • Please contact your campus id+ Office for details and schedules.

FACULTY & STAFF

All employees are eligible for an id+ card. The appointment type, or position classification, determines which type of id+ card you will be issued. Standing and fixed-term I appointments receive a Faculty/Staff id+ card, and wage payroll appointments and visiting faculty receive an Affiliate id+ card.

University Park:

New employees need to obtain an "Authorization for Penn State id+ Card" form from their Human Resources representative. This form must be presented at the id+ Office, 103 HUB-Robeson Center, before the employee can be issued an id+ card.

Other Penn State Locations:

Please contact your campus id+ Office for details and schedules.
